Task 1 Introduction to Financial Management

Welcome to Financial Management Consultants Worldwide. Our new clients are a group of investors who wants to hire a team to select a company to invest in. This group will select a company and provide the valuation on company. You have been selected because of your growing understanding of financial management. The company must be publicly traded and have a solid valuation for investment. As the consultant team, it is your responsibility to provide sufficient information that will allow the investor to make an informed decision. This project will include company selection and obtaining the basic financial information such as annual reports, stock price data, industry data, analysis the financial ratios, calculating growth rates and using these to project five years of future cash flows. The group has nine weeks to accomplish this project and present it along with an executive summary to the investor group.

This requires working with a team to achieve goals to meet investor group requirements. Understanding this process will be key to meeting the needs of the company.

Companies Selection

Students will work in randomly assigned teams of groups of 3-7 persons.

Decide on a team identification and make a name plate for the group with all the names of the team members.

Select three publicly traded companies.

Provide a description of the companies, history, leadership, products/services, and current value of the company.

Present the selected companies with descriptions to the instructor for approval.

Each member of the team will turn in the same document. The document must include the names of all team members, the three companies selected, and brief information about each company and why these companies were selected. The team must also submit the team contract with required contact information. (Minimum 5 pages)
