Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Lord Byron are two more of the central Romantic poets.
Coleridge was a good friend of Wordsworth, and both men influenced the other’s writing. Coleridge introduces a supernatural element to Romantic poetry as you can see in “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.”
Lord Byron was often compared to his famous character Don Juan. He considered himself not as a womanizer, but as a man seduced by women. Notice in his poem to his wife that he appears to be the one who is the suffering victim when he was the one who cheated on her! I am related collaterally to Byron who is a hero to the Greeks.
