This is one of my favorite short stories. Do you think Edie is an honest person? Do you think it is effective that the narrator is an older woman looking back at her youth or would it have been more effective if it was told from the view of Edie as a girl? Were you surprised at the ending? What do you think of Alice Kelling? When did Edie experience an epiphany (moment of spiritual insight)? Did you see any use of stream-of-consciousness?
