Read chapter 8 of the Fundamentals of Ethics “Ethical Egoism”. Then evaluate the argument “Egoism Arbitrarily Makes My Interests All-Important” on page 117 and 118. Explain the premises and assumptions needed to generate the argument and the conclusion which follows. Finally assess the argument. Determine if the premises are sufficient to show Free Will doesn’t exist. If not what other information would be required. Evaluate the assumptions. Are they plausible, or should they be presented and defended as premises in the argument? You may present the argument as either a summary of claims in paragraph form or as an individuated premises lists and the conclusion. Your summary should be between 1 to 1 ½ pages in length.
