Discuss the U.S. view of WWI vs. the view from abroad. Compare and contrast the views of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and French President Georges Clemenceau at the Versailles Peace Conference in 1919.

Consider these questions:

    • Why did they have such different perspectives on peace with Germany?
    • What can a comparison of their views tell us about some of the strengths and weaknesses of Wilson’s vision for America and the world?
