WARRANTS: Locate 5 warrants in newspapers, magazines, on the internet etc..

WARRANTS

warrants are a means of adding credibility to an argument. They guarantee (or warranty) your supporting evidence (backing) and argument. An example of a warrant is:

World-renowned Dr. Amos Oz has declared that the Mediterranean diet is the healthiest diet for one’s heart because of it’s healthy fats, such as olive oil, and the scaling back of “meats and treats.”

The evidence/backing in the above statement is: the healthy fats, such as olive oil, and the scaling back of “meats and treats.”

The warrant is: “Dr. Amos Oz” because he makes the backing credible, so he guarantees it.

Also, don’t forget to provide the sources of your warrants. For example, The Standard-Examiner, March 17, 2014; or The New York Times, April 2, 2014; or Comcast.xfinity.net, March 29, 2014; or CNN Newsroom, March 30, 2014; etc. (Please include: The date of access, the source, and the author’s name.)

Locate 5 warrants in newspapers, magazines, on the internet, or listening to news stories on TV or radio. Type them up and attach them. Please submit this assignment through Canvas only. (Also, please no more than 2 warrants from any one source, which means you need 5 different sources). note: you need to write them the same way the example above is written.
