These are three images by Yannis Behrakis for REUTERS. Reuters and The New York Times shared the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news photography for images of the migrant crisis in Europe and the Middle East.

Please PICK TWO of the three images and compare/contrast them, specifically discussing:

  • How do the two images portray the migrant crisis?
  • What kind of visual message is communicated?
  • What about symbolic and political meaning?

Try to keep in mind the COMPOSITION, COLORS and other elements discussed in class and in the homework assignments.
