1st Interactive Response:

  • Analyze one student’s analysis of and rationale for product target market profile. Critique the selections.
  • Please respond to the Post that follows:

The product that I will be developing is a Food Truck business Caribbean Palm Café. I enjoy Caribbean food and feel there is a shortage of food varies in the Hampton Roads area. I’ve been cook Guyanese food for over 20 years now it has become one of my specialties. My husband is from Guyana (South America). When I met him I was already in tone with the culture from other in-laws. Over the last several years my skills have advance to another level.

The first thing I would do is become a part of the Food Truck Community in Hampton Roads called ets757 (ets757.com, n. D). The great thing about this website is the connections that it opens you up to in the community. The one good thing about having a food truck is mobility. I will have the advantage to set up and serve in all the hot place such as concerts, parks, beach areas, shopping parking lots, government properties on post or just large organization limited to eating places.

According to the VAL survey, I am most likely a Striver consumer group (VALS Types, 2015). I agree with the survey for I strive to make my customers happy. Before making a move I am truly a thinker first. Sometimes too much. I think about all of the things that will advance my business, make me success and provide a great service all at the same time.

2nd Interactive Response:

  • Analyze another student’s discussion of customer profiling. Share ideas or techniques that can be used in communicating the product message with the target.
  • Please respond to the following post:

The service I chose is the Military to Civilian Training under Logistics/PM. I chose this because I have seen many people retire or get out of the military and struggle to adjust to civilian life. The transition is even difficult for Soldiers in the Reserves and the National Guard who are already a daily member of the civilian world. When returning from deployments, the Army provides transition assistance so they can find a job and function normally on the job and with their family. Sloan reminds us there are a lot of things to consider when transitioning from the military to civilian life. (n.d.). It can become overwhelming for most people.

The three profiles I chose from US Framework and VALS Types as the target audience are the Thinker, Achiever and Striver. According the US Framework and VALS, Thinkers take a lot into consideration prior to making a final decision. Achievers work hard and put their family first. Strivers want a better life than they have and enjoy having fun. (n.d.). The personality types, however, are not an exact match. I believe these three profiles represent a large percentage of personalities represented in the military. The best places to advertise to these groups are television, radio, social media sites and within military buildings.
